What Size Washers Should be Used?

Posted on June 22, 2007 under Washers News

Washer size for the game of washersOne of our loyal visitors Troy brought attention to the fact that we really haven’t clearly defined what size washers should be used. We at Game of Washers typically use 2.5″ diameter washers. These are commonly referred to in hardware stores by their inside diameter of 1″. Just to be absolutely clear we have included an image in this post.

Though we at Game of Washers have found this size to work perfectly, feel free to try different sizes. We’re sure you’ll notice how it can change the game.

If anyone has played with different sized washers then we’ve mentioned we would love to hear about it. What is your favorite size washer to use?

I have always played with 3″ washers in the central part of Calif. w/ 3 1/2″ or 4″ holes in the board. I have also played in a northern state tournament using the 3″ washers.

I have seen the 2 1/2″ washers lately by the younger people. Was the 3″ washers ever a national thing or could in just a local thing.

Would appreciate any information that is available with the 3″ washers. We use the 3′ long board with 3 holes w carpet. Every thing else is pretty much the same
